The word "Tired" and Wedding Prep Woes

when i was in secondary school, a girl told me she was tired of the relationship and left me. Since then i have been paranoid when a girl tells me that she is tired about something. (**Val is not tired of the relationship, just to make it clear**)

anyway alot of people have advise me to enjoy the experience of doing our wedding preparation. but it seems to be full of nerve racking experiences and anxiety. Be it with val or family. Thinking about it i guess, everyone is doing it their way and their time on the same item? I think wedding preparation is a training time for teamwork and cooperation and a time to throwaway the individualistic / self centered nature of each person, i guess it is about doing things together, helping one another out(maybe helping to do things the person might have forgotten or just helping when the person is busy). Then again it is also a time for each person to be more sensitive in acting AND reacting, it is not always the reactor that is at fault. My science teacher once told me this "for every action there is a reaction". So before we respond or say something when an issue happens, we got to think and consider the other person's feelings.

With one month and 1 week left, clashes between parties seem to grow more frequent and my "man zhang" character might have make it worst. So val and i had a interesting clash that has not resolved and we identified that this prep process is not going on happily. I am wondering how can we improve on it and feel happy on the 11th April 2009. Well, I dont have an answer neither does val. I guess we will have to submit it to God and really be SERIOUS about making the relationship right with God's help and not our own way or thinking.

The Count Down Begins

Since the last entry on the wedding, it is now to 1month 2 weeks and 4days!!! Time sure passes by fast. Well, Val and i have been preparing and marking off the items we need to do and need to buy or organise. From helpers list to guest list to bridesmaids' dresses, to the floral arrangement for Church. God has been there all the time to help us through the processes and have bless us with friends who have bless us with so many ways.

As I count the days to that special day, i have been thinking and praying about life as a married man and a husband. Thinking about what are my roles and responsibilities, what are my weaknesses that i need to overcome and what type of changes i need to make in my lifestyle as Val and I exchange our vows. It is not a "play play" or rountine vows, it is a serious vow to each other and especially with God and I got to make sure i remember it and make sure i follow through or improve on it. All these of course i cant do it myself, I will need God to teach and guide me and change me from within in any area that needs changing.

So what have we been up to besides guest list, one of the most anticipated things we did was our prewed shoot which happened before CNY. Below is a collage of it but if you want to see more, the link is here

hmmmmm what am i doing with 4month and 1 week to our big day? Nothing much but I would like to say this (val would agree). I thank God for friends who are willing to help and God has really helped us both in situations that we had no solution or beyond our ability to solve. As the day approaches, we are trying to understand God's love and how to show each other more of it. As much as there are challenges in the process but we know every challenge there is something God want us to learn, to prepare us for marriage. So hey for those planning to get married, PRAY!!!! and everything will be alright (Jer29:11)

here is a recap

on the 17th of June 2008 at 11am (swiss time), I proposed to Valerie.
It has been 2months plus since that happen and it has been challenging.

through these 2month we have learned there are so many ppl expectations to be met and how certain things we need to listen and obey God (which actually makes it a definite answer to certain things when had expectations clashing)

It has really been 2 months plus of God teaching us about ourselves, our expectations, how to depend on Him on things that we dont have control of. Am i complaining? NO!!! I believe it is through these times that God is really wanting to teach val and myself, to nurture and prepare us for marriage.

just recently there was a "big storm" that happen in some sensitive areas in our wedding preparation but after being through many challenges and knowing God is always there to help us, I was like in a boat in the "storm" but i was at peace. A peace that i know is from God and know I just have to trust Him and place it in His hand. one of my favourite verse is jeremiah 29:11 where it says

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

With that, how can i doubt His love for us, He has plans for both Val and I, a future in our union not only with each other but with God too.

So I am getting more and more excited as the wedding date gets closer, see the ticker at the top of the blog? hehehe so those who have seen it, that is the amount of time you have to save for the wedding.

back to being excited, i am excited on what God is doiing in my life and val's life, i am seeing changes and i am experiencing changes in my life too. I hope till the start of our marriage great things will happen for God's glory.

Back from Swiss and Italy (like 2 weeks ago)

Val and I are back from our trip to Switzerland and Italy. overall the trip was smooth and the weather was managable for us to walk and follow our itinerary.
I think pictures will say more then i can describe them but just to name the places, zurich, luzerne, bern, interlaken, florence (italy), pisa, la spezia, cinque terre, rome, venice and milan.
This trip for me was really interesting as i was on a mission. A mission to ask Val to be my lifelong partner, my companion, my wife.
Well it happened on a hill top of a mountain, surrounded by mountains in interlaken at a place called Klein Scheidegg. really thank God for providing the right weather, His timing is always perfect as we when were about to leave the place, it started to drizzle and the moutains started to be covered by clouds.
The last part of the trip was to attend Damian's Graduation, which was suppose to be the main reason why we are in europe. Interesting ceremony with the principal doing a poker lie, rubbing his nose while telling us the reason for the campus to move.

it is my first time to these 2 countries. Praying for good weather and safety as i heard many many people saying that italy have many pickpockets.

Day 6!!

Today is my 6th day at IDA. It has been quite ok, knowing alittle of the culture, meeting new people, observing the activities and working habits here. As i am still new and do not know much of the projects or operations, i have been following my colleagues around and i have attended 2 briefings, 1 meeting and 2 talk.

I really want to thank God the view which i prayed for :p All i need to do is to turn around, take a few steps forward and i will see this.

For those at work who have heard and those who left and also have heard, i am leaving Ghim Li. I think it should not be a surprise that i am leaving, i have been in GL for 3yrs it's time for me to move on and see more of the corporate world.
Looking back, GL has thought me alot of things and it is where i will always remember where i first stepped into the working world, where I was given the opportunity to learn and lead a team. during my time here, i have made many friends and because of these, it sort of makes me sad that i am leaving.

Went to vivo like a month ago with val, my sis, hosea. We went to this restaurant called "The Mussel Guys". We had soup which had a mussel, we had seafood baked rice which had mussels too.

Of course when you go to a restaurant that name themselves as "The Mussel Guys", you got to try their mussels, which we did. And we found "friends" in the mussels..........

Yes that is a baby crab. Well, we didnt just find one in one mussel but some of the mussels had a baby crab in them. One of the lady boss of the restaurant told us it was the season that the baby crabs were found in the mussels. To me it was the first time i have seen it but it was a sign. A sign that these mussels are fresh and not cultured.
Well, the food we had esp the soup and the mussels were good and i would definitely recommend people to have a try at "The Mussel Guys

My 1st Dell Laptop (Part II)

I got the replacement set and i thought they definitely make sure it would be of better quality and finishing. At first, it was better when they changed the brand of harddisk to eliminate the noise coming from the harddisk.

But one of the most basic things was not done properly, the supports on under the laptop was not balanced!!! So whenever i rest my left palm down on the laptop, it sinks down to touch the table surface. I have already reported to them the issue, waiting again for their resolution. Why oh why did i get this laptop........

My 1st Dell Laptop

I just got a Dell laptop in the office. It is the XPS M1330
It has a Core 2 Duo T7300 processor (2ghz), 2GB RAM, 120GB hdd, 128mb nvidia VGA card, a dvd burner, 13.3" Wide Screen all the other standard features.
It costs about 2600SGD (inclusive of 7% GST). Well, might sound abit expensive but i thought let's give DELL a try............

Guess what, i found the finishing alittle disappointing, maybe it is just my observation skills, i can see the wiring in between the joints of the screen and the keyboard.

And while installing my office softwares, i got my engineer to hear the clicking sound that i was hearing from the hdd in the laptop, he confirmed it was not usual and i decided to contact the technical support who were very friendly and helpful. At first i was given asked if they could send an engineer down to check and confirm on the unsual clicking sound and to replace on the spot the hdd but as i continue to tell them about the clicking sound, the technical support guy asked if there is any damage on the box, which upon my checking there was. I was then given another choice and that was to escalate for a replacement of the entire laptop.
hmmmmmmm of course i decided to take the second option and just take it that the laptop is faulty due to mishandling :p. Even now with the laptop already shutdown and charging, there is still electrical sound coming from the laptop *scary*

I will update more whether i get a replacement. BTW, the laptop is only 2days old.

Most of you have heard of me saying i do not have enough money or not earning enough. Well few weeks ago, a guy from Crown Financial Ministries spoke about finances entitled "Money, a matter of Your Heart" and he said something that really struck me on the part of plan your spending, he said;

"Financial freedom is not determined by how much you make. It is determined by how you spend what you make"

When i heard it, i reflected on my spending and have always wondered where i spend my money, how come at the end of the month it is always super stretched. So i decided to keep track of all my accounts including drink, sweets, magazine etc etc. Val has gladly volunteered to help me keep track so i just daily "report" to her what i have spent.

So we will see at the end of the month how i have faired.

Church Camp!!

I finally got my lazy butt to update my blog. So where shall i start? Church camp happened from 11th June - 15th June. Had a magnificant time, enjoying God's presence and His teachings, things that has gotten me thinking about how i can offer more of myself to build His kingdom. It also got me wanting to know God more.
The camp speaker was Rev. Martin Steel, he messages are really full of passion and anointing from God. One thing i really agree was about Being Aware of the Need, getting the Burden and filled with the Passion.

Physical fun wise, we went to play go kart and it was my first time on driving a go kart. It was fun!!!

On the way back to singapore, our coach driver was driving very fast but we cant tell how fast, see the picture you will understand.

Lawrence on his second day of sick leave while Ee Chiang is in Woodlands. So i am left with my 1week old helpdesk(his name is Jonas) and myself. Jonas is running up and down between 4 floors so to ease his job i took on some simple helpdesk task on the 4th floor (i am located on the 4th floor you see). I am quite proud, i am still able to solve some technical issues and help cut down the number of service requests(ok about 3-4). Lawrence going to scold me....i forgot to log the cases in the system. hehehe

anyway, last week my car couldnt start when i was about to leave tiong bahru plaza after my msca class. Heidi had to have her batt pack changed maybe it is her Philips Diamond Vision headlights, which almost blinded Ee Chiang.

Vista is out and i took almost 4hours plus to install on my laptop. looks cool but will need to explore to use it to it's full potential. nice graphics, nice widgets lookalike.

Going to The Cage tonight to play indoor soccer, all of them will be heading there after watching the Singapore Thailand match at Kallang Stadium, i hope they wont start tackling like the real players.......

I got this website from Sox's and decided to try and see if i look like any handsome celebrities, well not too bad. out of so many i only know 3 of them.

Lee Hom - Review

Ok the Lee Hom concert was quite good, as Valerie said he is a good entertainer and very talented with musical instruments, stage wise the props and effects was good abit like one of robbie williams mtv stage or was it australian idol stage setup.
Alot of people, looks like full house. People from all over came, we have chinese chinese, malaysia chinese, japanese(yes they somehow know how to listen), singapore chinese and singapore malay (taufik was there).
Lee Hom dressing: cool
Lee Hom bod: tone and lean but not hunky.
Audience dressing: some going to disco, low cut tops, short skirts or full dress, guys we have tshirts to long sleeve shirts, jeans to pants.
Audience bods: we have people of all shape and sizes, from the hots bods to the round bods.

Overall I enjoyed the concert, the sound was slightly to the high frequency which i felt uncomfortable at times but i guess it was due to his voice range.

I am going his concert with Val and her sister, been listening to his latest cd and was trying to sing his songs and practice my swaying and swinging of my hands in the air.

I need to buy light sticks hehehehe.

Remedial Training

Remember I said i want to exercise and have a goal of losing some weight? Well, i was lazy and one day, i got an sms to book my ippt before my birthday. Guess what, the sms came 3months after my birthday......so I am put into remedial training in the army. It is a 8session training, wednesday evening from 6pm-10pm and saturday 4pm-8pm. sounds very shiong right? *puke*

First session was on saturday, went there at 4pm, waited like till 445pm then we went to the lecture for some introduction and dos and donts of the camp. after that, went for warmup, after warmup, we split into 2 groups(more than 100guys of all shape and sizes). one group went to the gym for orientation of the gym while the other group went for a orientation run(suppose to be 10km but all bs). BTW that day was when Singapore PSI was all time high of 150. Well, we only ran like 500metres, and was told to sit around and wait for our turn for orientaion to the gym. we waited for like 30-45mins!!! in the open where i almost couldnt see the running track properly due to the haze.

Second session was ok, we did 20mins run round the track and hit the gym but due to too many people, i could only complete one set of all the equipment. Third session was not planned at all, they group phase 1 and phase 2 people and on the spot thought of impromptu exercises to do that was after we sat in the sun on a hazy day for 15-20mins after we did our warmups.

Yesterday session also the same. We warm up and sat down, ran 18mins, sat down again and wait another 15mins before we had a lecture on running techniques, breathing techniques, jumping techniques etc etc.

So how much weight can I lose and whether I can pass the IPPT on the 8th session, i have no confidence.....but at least it got my body moving and I can try to slow go back to running and gymming, my planet fitness membership will last another 1and a half years man......

Hmmmmm, what shall I update about? The incident with Jane's friend has passed, though humanly still bitter about it. So let's talk about more interesting stuff. For example, let's talk about my love, Valerie, no it is not vivian it is Valerie, for people who only remember the first alphabets of peoples names. =p
It has been almost 2 months since Valerie and i have gotten together, life has been fun, funny things happen and interesting things about one another pops up hahaha.
Work wise, things are abit stagnant, trying to sort out processes, workflows especially for the IT services part. Hard to implement something when managers of different department are not seeing the benefits of new policies and workflows.
Heidi will be gone soon and heidi's replacement will be here in 2months time. I wont say what it is yet, for those who know "shhhhhhhh". I am starting to think of things to enhance it's performance, so i shall call it "Project C". I will list my things to do soon. of course safety is one of the factors. So hint hint: rims and tyres.

Blind by Anger

I dont know in which part of my posting did i not say i am trying to change. And i dont know which part of my blog there are words that said i regretted my past. I guess some people are just too blind by anger to read properly.
My previous relationship with jane ended mutually but somehow her friends are not getting the same understanding. It seems like they are getting the impression i dumped her, just because i got over the relationship and got into another faster than her, i am the one in the wrong? the best thing is i am getting commented by someone that is not sure of herself nor has a stable relationship. being truthful, is not only to your friends but to your family members too which the person cant comment and started her filtering my words and continued with her blabbering.
For the record, I AM AWARE(uppercare incase some people cant read properly) of what i did before, i AM NOT running away from them and I AM NOT denying my past. As i said in my previous post AT LEAST I AM TRYING to change.
I just cant take people putting things in my words or mouth, especially people who themselves are not doing things right. Weirdest thing from this person is saying in her blog that she forgives me.....i am like why do i need you to forgive me when she was the one that started all this comments, like i had a relationship with her or something. sighs

Where does truthfulness stop at?

So I found out who was the one that posted the weird comment and i am not surprised she/he did. I deleted the post on the tab board as the person did not put his/her real name so i do not think there is need for it to be there.
I admit i am not holy and alot of people are not but there is a percentage that do want to start afresh a life with Jesus. At least there is hope in my life and not running around in circles especially in relationships.

The person talked about truthfulness, well that person got to ask himself/herself whether was he/she just shooting his/her mouth before saying things(hint: truthful to family members).
The person also mentioned "Shaming Jesus name....." my goodness a pot calling a kettle black man.........please open your eyes and see what i am doing now if you want to talk about christianity. As i said i dont claim i am holy i am learning to walk the ways of the Lord and making sure i am doing things right and not blabbering about my past. I do not need to explain myself to that person, as long as my conscious is clear, i cleared things in my past and moving ahead.

Well, to me dont drag God into such stuff when you assume to know Him well but remember He knows you very well and no matter what I have done or what you have done, He still loves us and hope we go back to Him. Which I am doing now. How about you?

New blog and i already got my first weird comment at my tagboard.
I do not know who wrote it and i do not know why that person would want to say such things. But hey at least i admit i am not perfect and willing to learn how to be Holy in the eyes of God.
At least i know i got flaws and want to be a better person and not pretend I am perfect.
There is a difference between being confident in yourself and being ignorant of your flaws.

Oh well, till that person who uses TPG Internet Pty Ltd in Australia as his/her internet service provider with IP address starting with 202.7.190. says something, i have nothing else to say of such people.

New Chapter of Life

Just moved over from another blogging site. Hopefully this site is better, i hope so since i am following the crowd over here.

So what is new in my life? I watch world cup (ok world cup is over). Went to bintan with a group of colleagues/distant relatives/friends. Had a great time and almost got run over by my girlfriend who was riding a dune buggy (we got stuck and i was trying to get out to help push when she stepped the accelerator). Will upload some nice pictures later on.

Yes I have found myself a girlfriend. She is beautiful, lovely and nice real nice. I feel so comfortable with her, we can chat and chat, fall asleep in each other arms, go running together or just watch tv. It has only been only 18days but it feels like we have known each other or been together for very long. We planning to start doing a couple devotion together just to grow together in the Lord and know more about one another. Oh i "advert" about her but have not said who she is......well like Singapore Idol, answer right after the break (in blogging terms means till next entry) =p
